Pysanky, the term for Ukrainian Easter eggs, are not normally considered as decorations for the Christmas season. But there’s no reason not to use the same wax resist and dye technique to create colourful ornaments for the tree, or elsewhere. In fact, one of the popular animals symbols we often use is the reindeer. So that is what I’m doing this Saturday, November 28th – teaching the art of Christmas egg decorating, Ukrainian-style!
